Video version of a public, kiosk-style presentation about the Stanford Solar Observatories Group, administered by the Stanford Hansen Experimental Physics Lab (HEPL). The presentation is designed to be one of several HEPL research project overviews that tun in a continuous loop on a 60" HD television display in the lobby of the Stanford Physics/Astrophysics Buiilding.
This presentation was developed using Apple's Keynote presentation software. The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview of the Solar Observatory Group's research, an overview of NASA's Solar Dynamic Observatory (SDO), on which the Stanford Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager (HMI) instrument is mounted, along with two other solar research instruments, and an overview of space weather, complete with near realtime images of the sun updated from the Solar Group's JSOC database each time the presentation runs.
